About James

I am Executive Vice President and General Manager at Weber Shandwick Baltimore, where I lead a team of talented professionals in delivering innovative and impactful communications, creative design, paid media, digital innovation, and marketing solutions for our clients. In addition to this remit, I also lead the digital innovation practice across the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD offices. With 17 years of experience in the communications industry, I have a proven track record of enhancing business revenue and performance by finding and focusing on the levers that drive growth, awareness, sales, and loyalty.

On a daily basis, the +50 people on my teams work to uncover the insights, approaches, structures, and tools that help brands better engage their target audiences, craft authentic narratives, and solve challenges big and small. Having in-depth integrated media experience across paid, earned, social, and owned media, my focus ranges from leading social media content engines for major national brands to guiding b2b digital marketing growth efforts to spearheading annual reports for both publicly and privately-held organizations. 

I have worked in a global capacity, collaborating with teams and leaders across various markets and cultures, to drive business success on several continents. Markets I've worked in and with include the U.S., the U.K., Switzerland, Hong Kong, China, Mongolia, Australia, Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil.

Whenever possible, I make time to share thoughts with peers at conferences or with the next generation of communications and marketing leaders in the classroom. I have years of experience as an adjunct professor, sharing knowledge with students at New York University (EMBA program) as well as George Washington University (undergraduate studies). 

In my spare time, I am either reading or listening to a range of memoirs/biographies and unpacking life themes with guests on my own podcast, One Quick Point.
